Karara Mining Limited (KML) is an Ansteel Group company. Ansteel is one of the largest iron ore producers and steel makers in China. Located 200km south-east of Geraldton, Western Australia, Karara is the largest mining operation and the first major magnetite mine in the Mid-West. It produces a premium, high-grade concentrate product for export to steelmakers.

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Human Resources Business Partner (Senior HRBP) to join our site-based team.

This position operates on 5 days on 2 days off / 4 days on 3 days roster FIFO from Perth or DIDO from Geraldton.

To be successful in the role, the following is essential:

• A tertiary qualification in Human Resources or similar
• Proven experience in a senior HR business partner/ generalist role
• Solid understanding of the relevant employment instrument and legislation, sound judgement and high-level ability to interpret and analyse HR policies
• Strong ability to initiate, build and maintain strong and effective relationships and partnerships with all levels of stakeholders
• Demonstrated ability to provide high level consultancy and coaching services and advice to the business on a range of complex people matters, including the ability to diagnose organisational development needs and provide solutions of strategic and integrated interventions
• Strong analytical skills, attention to details and time management skills
• Effective interpersonal skills and the ability to work with cross-functional working teams

Key Duties include (but are not limited to):

• Partner with internal stakeholders to design and implement organisational initiatives  
• Lead HR investigations ensuring compliance confidentiality and fairness  
• Support leaders in organisational development identifying gaps and creating action plans  
• Manage workers' compensation claims and coordinate return-to-work processes  
• Drive site improvements and maintain strong internal and external relationships  
• Develop and execute HR projects to meet operational needs  
• Coach Site and Port leaders to strengthen workplace relationships and management effectiveness  
• Oversee performance HR matters providing guidance to management  
• Advise on Employee and Industrial Relations issues  
• Identify risks related to people and implement appropriate strategies  
• Ensure adherence to HR policies and build effective stakeholder relationships
