Karara Mining Limited (KML) is an Ansteel Group company formed as a joint venture with Gindalbie Metals Limited. Ansteel is one of the largest iron ore producers and steel makers in China. Located 200km south-east of Geraldton, Western Australia, Karara is the largest mining operation and the first major magnetite mine in the Mid-West. It produces a premium, high-grade concentrate product for export to steelmakers.

This role is a permanent position, operating on an 8 days on and 6 days off roster - FIFO from Perth or DIDO from Geraldton. 

To be successful in the role, the following is essential:

• Demonstrated industry experience in a metallurgical plant environment - experience in magnetic separation and magnetite processing would be desirable 
• Registered Schedule 26 Appointed Person
• Valid WA C Class Driver’s Licence
• Proven understanding and experience in mineral processing operation including crushing, grinding, flotation, thickening, and filtering plants
• Previous experience as a Coordinator or similar role managing a small to medium size teams
• Proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Excel and Word
• National Police Clearance

Key Duties (but not limited to) :-

• Oversee plant operations with a focus on short-, medium-, and long-term production planning
• Coordinate daily and weekly activities to ensure safe, efficient achievement of production targets
• Lead and support operational teams, ensuring adequate staffing, training, and high housekeeping standards
• Develop and manage training systems, including competency matrices and operator development programs
• Liaise with Maintenance, Metallurgy, Mining, and contractors to coordinate workflows and optimise plant performance
• Plan, schedule, and execute production and maintenance activities, including shutdowns and restarts
• Manage maintenance planning, backlog, and equipment availability in collaboration with maintenance teams
• Monitor performance, deliver regular reports, and drive corrective actions where required
• Identify process issues, implement solutions, and provide technical support to operating teams
• Ensure compliance with operational systems, procedures, and safety standards
• Lead tailings operations, including inspections, maintenance, and minor repairs
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across all areas of the processing operation
