Karara Mining Limited (KML) is an Ansteel Group company. Ansteel is one of the largest iron ore producers and steel makers in China. Located 200km south-east of Geraldton, Western Australia, Karara is the largest mining operation and the first major magnetite mine in the Mid-West. It produces a premium, high-grade concentrate product for export to steelmakers.

The opportunity

We are looking for a skilled Cost Controller to join our on-site team. In this role, you will deliver cost administration and support to the Karara Maintenance team, ensuring data is accurately captured to enable reliable reporting and effective cost management. 

This role operates on a 5 days on and 2 days off / 4 days on and 3 days off FIFO or DIDO roster. 

To be successful in the role, the following is essential:

• A degree qualification in Finance or related field is desirable
• WA ‘C’ Class Drivers Licence
• High level of attention to detail
• Proven experience in a Cost Administration position or similar
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
• Expert user in the application of an ERP system
• Previous experience in a mining, oil & gas or other heavy industry would be favoured
• National Police Clearance

Key responsibilities include:

• Support Principal Cost Controller with contractor cost analysis
• Raise purchase requisitions in SAP
• Verify invoices against Labour Request Forms, contracts, and FIFO records
• Process invoice receipts in SAP for timely payment
• Reconcile vendor timesheets and record EOM labour costs
• Maintain and update vendor register (YTD spend)
• Assist with vendor queries on invoices and POs
• Provide general administrative support as required
