The opportunity
We are currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Planner/Scheduler, responsible for maintaining the preventative and predictive mechanical maintenance strategy including; effectively planning and scheduling work to provide optimum equipment reliability.
This role operates on an 8 days on, and 6 days off continuous day shift roster.
To be successful in this role the following is essential:
- Mechanical Trade qualification and/or proven maintenance experience
- WA "C" Class driver's licence
- Experience working with processing plants, mining processing equipment and modular outages in a maintenance capacity
- Strong experience developing Gantt charts in MS Project
- Ability to work autonomously and cohesively as part of a cross functional team
- Understanding of maintenance management principles and work management systems
- Proven experience interpreting and understanding technical electrical drawings
- Demonstrable background delivering projects in line with predicted operational requirements
- Experience undertaking technical reviews and investigations
- Proficient in the use of computer systems including Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and the Microsoft Office Suite
- A current National Police clearance

Key Duties:
- Develop and participate in planning and scheduling of preventative and corrective maintenance activities.
- Adhere to processes and procedures identified in the KML Work Management System.
- Provide expert technical knowledge regarding electrical maintenance standards on day to day tasks or projects.
- Participate in the development of strategies for electrical maintenance activities.
- Participate in initiatives to improve performance of equipment or maintenance procedures/systems.
- Proactively monitor, measure, communicate and report objectives, issues, opportunities, risks, technical deviations and achievements in area of responsibility.
- Coordinate timely proposals, to relevant stakeholders, for mitigation strategies as required.
- Report on established maintenance KPI’s to identify potential improvement areas for the planning team and maintenance teams.
- Maintain equipment operating statistics in the CMMS to ensure accurate forecasts for equipment maintenance are produced.

About Karara Mining
Located 200 km south-east of Geraldton in the Shire of Perenjori, Western Australia Karara has an expected mine life of 30+ years. The operation includes a large open pit mine, complex ore processing and beneficiation plant and significant infrastructure and logistics networks. As part of the logistics network Karara owns and operates 80km of railway between Tilley Junction and the Karara mine site, linking the Karara Export Terminal at the Port of Geraldton, able to handle up to 16 Mtpa of export product from a dedicated berth, with associated rail and train unloading infrastructure.
