Karara Mining Limited (KML) is an Ansteel Group company formed as a joint venture with Gindalbie Metals Limited. Ansteel is one of the largest iron ore producers and steel makers in China. Located 200km south-east of Geraldton, Western Australia, Karara is the largest mining operation and the first major magnetite mine in the Mid-West. It produces a premium, high-grade concentrate product for export to steelmakers.
The opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Accounts Officer to join our Finance team, based in our Perth office.
This position is responsible for the full suite of accounts management functions, from the matching and processing of invoices, to creditor payment runs, petty cash and expense claim management.
To be successful in this role the following is essential:
- Experience in similar Accounts role within the mining/resources industry
- Computer literacy and solid knowledge of MS Word & Excel
- Previous SAP experience
- Strong communication skills along with the ability to work autonomously
- Ability to work to strict timeframes and deadlines
- A current National Police clearance

Key Duties:
- End to end accounts payable processing
- Preparation and processing of creditor payment runs
- Monthly reconciliation of supplier accounts with daily interface with suppliers
- Preparation of debtor invoices and payment follow up where required
- Expense claim processing and management including distribution control, recording and reporting
- Providing assistance to the accounting team as required and assist with general office duties as required
- Bank reconciliations Foreign & AUD

Located 200 km south-east of Geraldton in the Shire of Perenjori, Western Australia Karara has an expected mine life of 30+ years. The operation includes a large open pit mine, complex ore processing and beneficiation plant and significant infrastructure and logistics networks. As part of the logistics network Karara owns and operates 80km of railway between Tilley Junction and the Karara mine site, linking the Karara Export Terminal at the Port of Geraldton, able to handle up to 16 Mtpa of export product from a dedicated berth, with associated rail and train unloading infrastructure.
