Karara Mining Limited (KML) is an Ansteel Group company formed as a joint venture with Gindalbie Metals Limited. Ansteel is one of the largest iron ore producers and steel makers in China. Located 200km south-east of Geraldton, Western Australia, Karara is the largest mining operation and the first major magnetite mine in the Mid-West. It produces a premium, high-grade concentrate product for export to steelmakers.

The opportunity

We are currently seeking an experienced Parts Planner/Officer to join our site-based Material Management team, ensuring the efficient management and timely availability of spare parts and materials required for the maintenance and repair of equipment within the organisation.

This role operates on an 8 days on, and 6 days off continuous day shift roster.

To be successful in this role the following is essential:

• A Trade qualification or equivalent experience in a related field (beneficial)
• WA "C" Class driver's licence
• Minimum 3 years of experience in parts planning, inventory management, or a similar role in a maintenance or industrial environment
• Familiarity with computerised maintenance management systems (CMMS) or inventory management software (e.g., SAP, Maximo)
• Strong organisational and problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities
• Good understanding of spare parts and materials management in the context of equipment maintenance
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and suppliers
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in parts tracking and reporting
• A current National Police clearance

Key Duties: 

The purpose of this position is to optimise parts planning, forecast future needs, and ensure that parts management processes align with the maintenance strategy and operational goals of the company.

The Parts Officer works closely with maintenance teams, suppliers, and inventory management to ensure that parts are ordered, stocked, and ready for use when needed, while also maintaining cost-effective inventory levels.

About Karara Mining

Located 200 km south-east of Geraldton in the Shire of Perenjori, Western Australia Karara has an expected mine life of 30+ years. The operation includes a large open pit mine, complex ore processing and beneficiation plant and significant infrastructure and logistics networks. As part of the logistics network Karara owns and operates 80km of railway between Tilley Junction and the Karara mine site, linking the Karara Export Terminal at the Port of Geraldton, able to handle up to 16 Mtpa of export product from a dedicated berth, with associated rail and train unloading infrastructure.
