Karara Mining Limited (KML) is an Ansteel Group company formed as a joint venture with Gindalbie Metals Limited. Ansteel is one of the largest iron ore producers and steel makers in China. Located 200km south-east of Geraldton, Western Australia, Karara is the largest mining operation and the first major magnetite mine in the Mid-West. It produces a premium, high-grade concentrate product for export to steelmakers.

The opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Senior Warehouse Officer to join our team on site providing services and support to internal KML Stakeholders with an accurate and efficient continuity of supply for requested materials supporting successful plant operations and maintenance schedules.

This role operates on an 8 days on and 6 days off roster with alternating 7 nights on and 7 days off.   

To be successful in the role, the following is essential:

• Western Australian C Class Drivers Licence
• High Risk Work License – LF Forklift and Reach Truck
• Proven experience in warehouse and logistics in the mining or other heavy industry
• Proven experience working with dangerous goods storage and transport
• Experience utilising integrated inventory and maintenance ERP system.
• Proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite and SAP
• National Police Clearance

Key Duties include (but are not limited to):

• Ensure accurate quantity and quality of inbound goods through completion of the good receipting process including the safe unloading of vehicles.
• Maintain inventory through correct labelling, storage and issuing of materials.
• Prepare documentation in anticipation for collection of goods to be despatched from site.
• Executing all goods movements in SAP Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) to reflect the quantity, location and availability of items including, the accurate receipt and issue of inventory items.
• Ensure the warehouse facility is secure to safeguard the goods it contains.
• Upkeep preservation of assurance spares and integrity of stock items through correct storage.
• Undertake stocktake activities for managed inventory and issue goods in accordance with customer usage.
• Monitor and receipt site bulk reagents and grinding media requirements.
• Operate all materials handling equipment in an effective and safe manner including, Reach Truck and Forklifts ranging from 2.5 Tonnes (T) – 16T.
• Update and maintain the freight register, reagent register, diesel dips and reconciliation report, warehouse accruals.

Located 200 km south-east of Geraldton in the Shire of Perenjori, Western Australia Karara has an expected mine life of 30+ years. The operation includes a large open pit mine, complex ore processing and beneficiation plant and significant infrastructure and logistics networks. As part of the logistics network Karara owns and operates 80km of railway between Tilley Junction and the Karara mine site, linking the Karara Export Terminal at the Port of Geraldton, able to handle up to 16 Mtpa of export product from a dedicated berth, with associated rail and train unloading infrastructure.
