Karara Mining Limited (KML) is an Ansteel Group company. Ansteel is one of the largest iron ore producers and steel makers in China. Located 200km south-east of Geraldton, Western Australia, Karara is the largest mining operation and the first major magnetite mine in the Mid-West. It produces a premium, high-grade concentrate product for export to steelmakers.

The opportunity

We are seeking highly capable Flights & Accommodation Officers to provide administrative services and other related support to our People and Village Services team.

This role involves daily management of Karara’s site access and flights processes to ensure operational effectiveness by booking flights and accommodation and other travel-related items, with a strong focus on providing the best possible experience for employees, contractors and visitors to the Karara mine site.

To be considered for this role applicants must be able to demonstrate strong administration and organisational skills. Applicants must also have a solid background in the travel field.

Operating on an 9 days on 5 days off roster, FIFO from Perth or DIDO from Geraldton.

To be successful in the role, the following is essential:

• Proven experience in an Administrative and/or Secretarial position
• WA C Class Drivers Licence
• Proficiency in the INX system including InFlight for management of flights and accommodation modules
• Advanced skills in computer programs including: Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Access, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint & Outlook), Adobe Acrobat and Visio Professional
• Proven experience using SAP, INX, Inflight and data management systems
• Strong attention to detail, numerical accuracy, typing accuracy and customer service
• Experienced, self-motivated person trained in broad range of administrative skills
• Understanding of document/report generation and presentation
• Team player and able to work independently 
• National Police clearance

Key Duties - (but not limited to):

• Facilitate and provide administrative support in the daily management of flights and Karara’s site access processes which includes contractors and visitors.
• Assist with the distribution of site communications and information bulletins
• Assist and liaise with stakeholders to ensure timely responses to requests for information and assistance
• Assist with the management of expenses, accommodation, travel bookings and any amendments in a timely manner
• Process site entry forms and ensure compliances are obtained prior to the site visit
• Support the administration component associated with site access and flights in relevant software systems
• Identify any abnormalities or missing information associated with site access and flight submissions
• Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously
• Drive a positive workplace culture

About Karara Mining

Located 200 km south-east of Geraldton in the Shire of Perenjori, Western Australia Karara has an expected mine life of 30+ years. The operation includes a large open pit mine, complex ore processing and beneficiation plant and significant infrastructure and logistics networks. As part of the logistics network Karara owns and operates 80km of railway between Tilley Junction and the Karara mine site, linking the Karara Export Terminal at the Port of Geraldton, able to handle up to 16 Mtpa of export product from a dedicated berth, with associated rail and train unloading infrastructure.
